Caroline Tennis Association, Inc, (CTA) provides tennis opportunities for Caroline County residents and guests. CTA partners with Caroline County Recreation & Parks and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to bring qualified Junior Tennis programs and clinics to the area. Through these partnerships, we are able to offer engaging tennis programs for all ages and skill levels, with a focus on developing youth tennis.
Our group of friends love the opportunity to play tennis or just hit balls and practice. You can arrange to practice, play and join our group with tennis as our common thread. Hit balls, play singles, doubles, mixed doubles, have a lesson, we can provide tennis opportunities right here in Ridgely.
Ridgely's Martin Sutton Park hosts 3 tennis courts, 2 pickle-ball courts, a playground for children, a skateboard park, basketball courts, a walking/jogging/running/biking trail, picnic areas, a pavilion, ample parking and local hospitality with great local food venues. The whole family can have fun even if it's not just tennis! Other Ridgely programs include baseball, football, cheer-leading, dance, wrestling, equestrian, 4 H, and numerous other activities for the young and old.

Jerry grew up in the town of Ridgely. Some town leaders had taken some initiatives to introduce and built some tennis courts at the local park. However, he didn't really play tennis as a youth or in high school. When he was married, his wife had played some tennis so he got a racket and they played at some courts in Federalsburg when they lived there. He enjoyed the sport and entered a couple tournaments later through Caroline County Parks and Recreation. When his daughter made the tennis team in high school he was introduced again. Jerry would play on some of the courts where they vacationed in the summer. When Caroline Tennis was forming he saw the benefits of young kids starting to play for the recreation part and in building a better high school program. He also started playing in the adult tennis nights in Ridgely. He really has enjoyed meeting others that are excited about tennis, especially the youth and have enjoyed the exercise it has provided for him. He has seen how Caroline Tennis has grown in the community and is pleased to be a part of it.
